The general and commander Petr Matveevich Apraksin wrote to the great king that he went with his soldiers to the Korela land and came a few miles short of the city to a place called Serdobolsk, where the Swedish troops of general Meidel were stationed. And them, the Swedes, he killed 300 and took captive some soldiers and corporals, all 50 men, and the higher officers were all killed. Of the inhabitants of that place both male and female almost 2 000 were taken captive, bread and cattle everyone took how much they pleased, and they brought 4 000 cows and bulls, and took plenty of other riches.
And those Swedish soldiers who were stationed in the nearby places, and they ran, without putting up a fight, namely colonels Tisengusen and Brakkel with their troops.
